Job Description Summary
This is a sales role for a defined territory and/or set of end users, partners, and automation machine builders (OEM’s). The TSE will work closely with the Area Sales Manager to develop account strategies and tactics. The TSE will be responsible for meeting or exceeding a defined quota at assigned or newly found accounts and expanding our base of business. The employee will embody the core values of Cognex including Work Hard, Play Hard, and Move Fast. Additional tasks will be assigned as needed by the manager. This is a rare opportunity for junior sales, including 0- 3 years’ work experience sales to develop and expand industrial automation expertise and accelerate their career in technical sales.
Essential Functions
· Other duties as required
· Work with EU Sales Readiness team to provide pre- and post- sales support including application evaluations, DS/BG, technical questions, training, etc. to ensure best- in- class customer experience along every step of the customer journey
· Generate leads for other Cognex sales teams (pass leads) by collecting information on customer’s complex vision applications beyond the capabilities of assigned products
· Leverages Service Cloud to ensure pre- and post- sales customer experience is being met
· Prospect for new sales opportunities via cold and warm leads which should build your sustainable sales pipeline
· Achieve assigned activities- based business objectives, including, but not limited to the following examples: customer visits, new customer acquisition, and new product introduction
· Demonstrate Cognex products and review applications/issues to provide solutions to these applications at customer sites
· Maintain operational excellence on a weekly basis by accurate forecasting and upward information flow
· Responsible for achieving a defined sales quota for both current and prospective customers in the designated territory
· Continuously update project details in CRM system including competitive data
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to work independently in a field sales environment travelling intensely with limited overnight travel (up to 20%)
· Willingness to relocate and pursue career ambition outside of familiar surroundings
· Ability to solve technical problems and learn new automation technology

· PC literate with a working knowledge of MS Windows applications
· Good listening and communication skills

Minimum Education and Work Experience Required
Experience in selling technical products to all levels of an organization is required.
Proven sales experience and a good track record for exceeding sales targets is required.
Bachelor&039;s degree or equivalent work experience, diploma also ok if work experience matched well.
0- 3 years automation product sales experience.
