Automation Engineer

Job Summary
Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role involves working with PLCs, robotics, control systems, and industrial software to support manufacturing and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Programming & Configuration

Program PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen- Bradley, Mitsubishi)
Configure industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)
Perform system debugging, testing, and validation

Installation & Commissioning

Ensure systems meet operational and safety requirements
Perform system startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnosing and resolving electrical and automation issues
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
Reduce downtime and improve machine reliability

Continuous Improvement

Support Lean Manufacturing / TPM initiatives
Analyze system performance and propose improvements
Implement automation upgrades to increase productivity and reduce costs

Documentation & Reporting

Provide reports on system performance and issues
Prepare technical documentation (schematics, manuals, SOPs)

Collaboration

Train operators and technicians on system usage
Work with Mechanical, Electrical, and Production teams

Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation (depending on level)

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of PLC programming
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols
Knowledge of robotics systems (KUKA, ABB, Fanuc) is a plus.
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems

Soft Skills

Problem- solving and analytical thinking
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills

Experience in manufacturing environments (automotive, electronics, etc.)
Knowledge of safety standards.
Experience with vision systems, PLC siemens, Allen Bradley (AB), Robot.

Working Conditions

Shift work is required.
Can work Overtime (OT) when necessary.
Work in factory/Production environment.
