Position Summary
The Banquet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet, conference, meeting, wedding, and special event operations within the hotel or resort. The role ensures exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction while maintaining brand standards, profitability, and team performance. The Banquet Operations Manager works closely with the Events, Culinary, Stewarding, and other operational departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the Banquet Department.
Operational Management
Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate operational requirements to the team.
Coordinate event setup, service delivery, and breakdown activities.
Ensure all banquet events, conferences, meetings, weddings, and social functions are executed according to event orders and guest requirements.
Ensure all function rooms, meeting spaces, and event venues are maintained according to brand standards.
Monitor service quality and operational efficiency throughout all events.
Collaborate with Events, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Conduct pre- event briefings and post- event reviews.
Team Leadership
Ensure all guests receive professional, attentive, and personalized service.
Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and service recovery situations.
Manage scheduling, manpower planning, and workforce deployment based on event requirements.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Build strong relationships with event organizers, corporate clients, and wedding planners.
Foster a positive, motivated, and service- oriented working environment.
Act as the primary operational contact during events and functions.
Train, coach, and develop team members to maintain service excellence.
Supervise Banquet Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Banquet Service Colleagues.
Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance
Implement corrective actions when service standards are not met.
Monitor service consistency, presentation standards, and event execution quality.
Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards, banquet service procedures, and operational guidelines.
Conduct regular inspections of banquet venues and event setups.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues and guests.
Participate in emergency response procedures and hotel safety programs.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and licensing requirements for events.
Ensure all banquet equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.
Financial & Cost Control
Support departmental budgeting and financial objectives.
Minimize waste and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Control the usage of operating supplies, equipment, and banquet inventory.
Monitor labor costs, productivity, and operational expenses.
Assist in achieving banquet revenue and profitability targets.
Inventory & Equipment Management
Ensure banquet equipment, furniture, linen, tableware, and service equipment are properly maintained.
Report maintenance requirements and equipment replacement needs.
Conduct regular inventory checks and asset control procedures.
Coordinate with Stewarding and Housekeeping to ensure adequate supplies for all events.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or international hospitality brands is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Strong knowledge of banquet operations, event management, service standards, and guest relations.
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast- paced environment.
Minimum 5–7 years of Food & Beverage or Banquet Operations experience in a hotel, resort, or event venue.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel event management systems.
At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory banquet leadership role.
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
