Commercialization Engineer, Footwear

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Commercialization Engineer, you will be responsible for bringing VF- owned brand footwear designs to life by engineering products for efficient manufacturability, lowest cost, and highest quality and performance. Based in one of VF’s key manufacturing regions and working closely with strategic vendors, you will serve as a critical liaison between VF’s development and production teams, ensuring product intent is maintained while meeting commercial and operational requirements.
You will work hands- on with factory and brand development teams, ensuring best practices in commercialization are applied early in the product development cycle. You will co- create fit and wear test samples, conduct tooling reviews, and lead pre- production trials (T4) to ensure product readiness for hand- off to production teams—upholding VF’s high standards of quality, comfort, and durability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and track extreme fit trial schedules with brand- approved fit and wear test teams, reporting progress to cross- functional stakeholders
• Partner with brand and vendor development, engineering, and production teams to ensure accuracy in pattern, fit, materials, and assembly techniques
• Track and hold accountable downstream and upstream teams to ensure BR and T4 readiness
• Collaborate with VF’s GMS mold tooling team to align tooling timelines with BR and production planning
• Partner with VF’s costing team to validate sample and production patterns against yield utilization
• Execute the commercialization process using subject matter expertise in production to ensure development samples meet commercialization requirements
• Ensure laboratory testing is conducted to meet product performance standards
