Customer Data Analyst (Team Lead)

JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for building, optimizing, and managing data systems to support analytics and business decision- making. You will transform data into actionable insights, enabling cross- functional teams (Operations, Product, Business, etc.) to improve performance and drive growth. As a bridge between data and business, you will ensure data is accurate, scalable, and effectively utilized across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Pipeline & System Optimization (30%)
Process and optimize large- scale datasets (millions to billions of records)
Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and dbt
Improve system performance and reduce cost through efficient query and pipeline optimization
Collaborate with Data/Engineering teams to ensure data reliability and consistency
Data Modeling & Data Quality (20%)
Design and maintain data models (fact/dimension, star/snowflake schema)
Leverage dbt for modeling, testing, and documentation
Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Standardize and manage metric definitions across teams
Analytics & Insights (20%)
Evaluate initiative effectiveness and communicate results to stakeholders
Translate business problems into data- driven solutions and measurable KPIs
Perform in- depth analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
Provide actionable insights to support operational optimization and business growth
Reporting & Dashboard Development (15%)
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
Develop and maintain recurring reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
Build interactive dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Cross- functional Collaboration & Ownership (15%)
Proactively identify opportunities to improve data systems and workflows
Balance ad- hoc analytical requests with scalable, long- term data solutions
Work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Product, and Business teams
Mentor and review work of junior team members (for Lead level)
REQUIREMENTS
Strong analytical thinking and problem- solving skills
Strong proficiency in SQL (BigQuery preferred), including window functions, cohort analysis, and query optimization (partitioning, clustering)
High ownership mindset, proactive attitude, ability to work in a fast- paced environment
Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
3–5+ years of experience in Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer roles, preferably with large- scale or production data systems
Experience with Python (Pandas, PySpark, etc.) for data processing
Hands- on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields
Experience with dbt, Git, Docker, Linux is a plus
Ability to work cross- functionally and communicate with stakeholders
