Manufacturing Engineer (DFM)

Job Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer (DFM field) at Jabil Vietnam will play a critical role in optimizing product designs for manufacturability. This position involves collaborating with design and NPI teams to ensure cost- effective and efficient production processes for a wide range of electronic products.
* Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews on new product introductions (NPIs) and existing products.
* Provide detailed feedback and recommendations to design engineers on design improvements to enhance manufacturability, reduce cost, and improve quality.
* Support the implementation of automated manufacturing processes and equipment by providing DFM input.
* Analyze product designs for potential manufacturing issues, such as material selection, component placement, soldering challenges, and assembly sequences.
* Participate in design reviews, FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and other relevant product development activities.
* Develop and implement DFM guidelines, best practices, and standard operating procedures across various product lines.
* Stay current with industry trends, new manufacturing technologies, and DFM best practices.
* Evaluate and recommend alternative manufacturing processes, materials, and components to optimize cost and production efficiency.
* Generate and present DFM reports, analyses, and recommendations to both technical and non- technical stakeholders.
* Collaborate with cross- functional teams including design, process engineering, supply chain, and quality to resolve DFM- related issues.

Job Qualifications
* Excellent problem- solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Bachelor&039;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Basic Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and 2D CAD tools.
* Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems is a plus.
* Knowledge of IPC standards for electronic assembly (e.g., IPC- A- 610, IPC- 7351).
* Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, including PCBA assembly (SMT, thru- hole), Conformal Coating, Depanelling methodologies.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast- paced, dynamic, and cross- functional team environment.
* Experience with DFM analysis tools and methodologies.
* 3+ years of experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) or a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing services (EMS).
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
