Product Development Leader (Merchandising- China Brand)

Follow up and implement customer comments for subsequent samples.
Review samples before submission and provide internal comments for improvement.
Submit samples to customers and obtain approval prior to bulk production.
Monitor material status and proactively resolve any issues that may impact sample delivery timelines.
Take full ownership of sample development from material status tracking to Proto / 360 KAS SLM / Fitting / Sealing sample submission.
Coordinate with cross- functional teams (Technical, Sample Room, Planning, Production, Shipping) to ensure on- time sample delivery.
Manage team workload to ensure sample development progress meets customer timelines.

Communicate with suppliers and customers to confirm accurate material unit prices.
Coordinate with Technical team to obtain correct marker, consumption, and GSD data.
Ensure pricing accuracy to avoid discrepancies or claims.
Prepare garment cost sheets and input data into the Puma system.
Check and verify all related documents for accurate costing.

Confirm shipment schedules and ensure on- time delivery per customer requirements.
Download and transfer sample orders from Puma system to related departments.
Work closely with Planning and Production to pre- plan in case materials affect sample shipment dates.

Download and review tech packs; translate and conduct internal kick- off meetings for sample development.
Develop print and embroidery artworks and follow up strike- off approvals.
Summarize material surcharges (if any) and inform customers accordingly.
Check and summarize fabric/trim/garment test results and communicate with customers for bulk approval.
Organize handover meetings with suppliers and internal teams before bulk production.
Update final tech packs and customer comments for bulk production.

Support fabric ordering as assigned by Line Manager.
Prepare monthly reports and development summaries.
Attend meetings and undertake other duties as assigned by Line Manager.

- University majoring in textile technology or related field
- Language Skills
Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin)

- Technical field: Understand maker vs maker efficiency, pattern design, style construction, and nest pattern for engineering material or graphic artwork.
- Strong knowledge of management in product costing, FOB, and cost matrix concept with costing margin analysis and material consumption calculation..
- Good computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Illustrator, with basic knowledge & understanding
- Understand the basic and general knowledge of quality for the textile fabric and accessories field.
- Strong knowledge of apparel product development (Sportswear), fit, and construction with an understanding of appropriate quality and brand standards.
- Understand the GSD or SAM concept
- 5+ years of experience in Apparel product development with all the product types and manpower management with the same above JD at Apparel Factory manufacturing field.
- 3D digital samples (V- stitcher and CLO) in basic knowledge and understanding
- Big data analysis by Tableau or Power BI
- Management of the material purchasing process and inventory analysis report
