Senior Quantity Surveyor (Senior QS)

Position Summary
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providing full quantity surveying and cost management services from project inception to completion. The role includes cost planning, tender management, contract administration, and commercial management to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in accordance with contractual and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre- Contract Services

Prepare tender documents, including BOQ, specifications, and pricing schedules.
Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, and budget reports at various project stages.
Provide cost advice and value engineering recommendations.
Conduct quantity take- offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Manage tender process, including tender queries, clarifications, and addenda.
Assist in procurement strategy and tender packaging.
Evaluate tender submissions and prepare tender reports and recommendations.

Post- Contract Services

Administer contracts in accordance with contract conditions.
Prepare variation orders and cost adjustments.
Assess variations, claims, and additional costs.
Assist in negotiation and settlement of variations and claims.
Monitor project costs and prepare cost reports and forecasts.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and commercial matters.
Prepare and agree final accounts.
Review and certify contractor’s interim payment claims.

Commercial Management

Maintain proper cost records and documentation.
Identify commercial risks and propose mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and professional standards.
Ensure proper cost control throughout project lifecycle.

Leadership and Team Management

Lead and supervise junior QS staff.
Review and check work prepared by junior staff.
Ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.
Provide guidance, training, and mentoring.

Client and Project Coordination

Maintain good client relationships.
Attend meetings and represent the company professionally.
Provide professional advice to clients on commercial matters.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

3 – 10 years of relevant experience (preferred).
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
High sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, and willingness to work overtime.
Bachelor&039;s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related construction.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to learn and adapt.
Critical thinking and a proactive attitude.
Ability to work independently and resourcefully when required.
Intermediate English communication and reading skills.
