MAIN DUTIES
Administration
• Maintain accurate records as required by provincial regulations.
• Attend weekly/monthly departmental communication meetings and to represent Fitness Centre in weekly Spa departmental meetings.
• Follow the guideline from Sofit Supervisor and management level
• Maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the SOfit.
• Knowledge and adherence of Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
• Effective scheduling of attendance.
Job Responsibilities
• Knowledge of Exercise menu and instruct guest in request
• Assist guest in using Sofit machines
• Develop and assist with promotional activities.
• Develop criteria for fitness evaluations.
• Administer exercise prescriptions.
• Develop and direct safe exercise programmes involving all aspects of the fitness centre.
• Maintain the standard set up of Sofit amenities
• Recognize contraindications to exercise.
• Maintain and sanitize equipments in proper conditions at all times
• Develop proper forms for correspondence with medical referrals and informed consent.
• Develop and administer and co ordinate programmes including aerobics and special programmes.
• Attend departmental staff meetings.
• Responsible for guest assessments, to include, but not limited to:
Sub maximum exercise tests
Strength and flexibility assessments
Body composition analysis
Guest interviews
Personalized exercise programme development and implementation
• Exercise leadership to include:
Martial Arts where applicable
Strength training
Aerobic classes where applicable
Cardiovascular conditioning
Stretching
• Complete all administrative forms necessary for efficient functioning.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies which will enhance the quality of services at the facility.
• Instruct and council members in all areas of exercise prescription, nutrition and stress Management.
• Design and implement all controls for classes which may include attendant sheets and starting/stopping times.
• Assist guests in setting realistic, obtainable fitness goals and objectives.
• Present an appropriate fitness model to members by staying in shape.
• Maintain a professional image at all times while dressing properly and speaking positively on behalf of the facility.
• Develop and coordinate all special events at the Fitness Centre.
• Participate actively in all scheduled meetings, emergency drills, training sessions and community events promoting the facility.
• Review all materials which are displayed on bulletin boards.
Financial and Revenue Responsibilities
Prepare and present monthly expenses reports and to assist in the preparation of annual operations.
Maintain the facility in peak condition at all times.
Training and Human Resources Management
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Be understanding hotel regulation and master all knowledge in Staff manual
Employee Relations
Ensure employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel&039;s policy relating to safety
Responsible for all aspects i.e. hiring, recognition, progressive corrective action.
Conduct Fitness Centre department performance appraisals on a timely manor.
Master and adhere to all hotel standards as stated in the employee handbook.
Responsible for the efficient training of all Fitness Centre/Aerobics employees in all aspects of job tasks.
Ensure cross training of all employees in Fitness Centre department and to facilitate training in other spa departments.
Ensure Sofit maintains a positive relationship with all departments in the Spa and Hotel.
Responsible for all Spa departments training in pertinent emergency procedures and ensuring all departments are well versed in Fitness Centre operations (cross training).
Guest Service Responsibilities
To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Ensure the facility is in peak condition at all times (operations and cleanliness).
Ensure guest/member satisfaction at all times by ensuring that safety and service is always the Spa&039;s first priority.
Miscellaneous
• All ambassadors may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.
• All ambassadors are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Health and Safety
• Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
• Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc.
• Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others
• Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
• Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified

• Hotel fire procedures
• Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures
