Trade Lane Development Manager (Freight Solutions)

This role is responsible for achieving revenue and profit targets through trade lane development. Working with a collaborative logistics and supply chain team, you will apply strategic, consultative sales techniques to drive growth. Success depends on engaging key decision- makers, promoting dedicated trade lane services, and securing new business. Performance will be measured by new customer acquisition, sales revenue, margin, and volume growth.
Purpose
Responsibilities
Prospecting & Business Development
- Prepare account performance reviews and growth plans for management.
- Identify and execute cross- selling opportunities.
- Analyze customer performance, identify growth drivers, and address factors leading to business loss.
- Collaborate with sales teams in other countries to secure large tenders and key accounts.
- Generate sales leads and develop new business opportunities from/to Vietnam.
- Coordinate with trade lane teams in Intra- Asia markets to capture growth opportunities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with major existing accounts and their trading partners in Vietnam.
- Identify and qualify potential customers for ocean and air freight on dedicated trade lanes.
- Promote the company’s full range of logistics solutions, ensuring strong brand presence across the network.
Tender Management
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure competitive and successful tender submissions.
- Qualify and pursue tender opportunities with existing and new customers, in line with the global tender process.
- Support regional sales teams in securing major opportunities related to Vietnam.
Strategic Initiatives
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop new products and solutions aligned with customer needs.
- Identify service gaps and provide feedback to senior leadership.
- Drive lead conversion from partner networks.
KPIs & Performance
- Achieve volume growth on key trade lanes (Europe inbound, Intra- Asia inbound/outbound).
- Ensure consistent lead generation and effective follow- up on opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong value proposition for main trade lanes.
Indicative Time Allocation
- Solution Presentations (In- person/Remote) – 30%
- Strategy: Targeting, Planning, Collaboration – 20%
- Solution Creation (Bids, Quotes, Multi- product Offering) – 50%
