Job Summary
The Venue Manager provides the leadership and strategic planning necessary to achieve excellence in guest experience, financial performance, and team development through theF&B and Experience Departments.You are ultimately accountable for guest experience, venue profitability, brand consistency,staff welfare, ambience (M.A.L.T), and maintaining a safe, high- energy environment for bothguests and employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operations & Financial Management
Standardization: Implement and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across F&B, Bar, Kitchen, Events & experiences.
Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to health, fire, safety, food/liquor laws, and internal company policies.
Financial Integrity: Enforce strict accounting procedures, cash handling, reconciliations, and bank deposits.
Revenue Optimization: Work with Finance and Operations to adjust pricing strategies and maximize Revob.
P&L Responsibility: Collaborate with GM & Global F&B on revenues, cost of goods sold & Payroll in order to achieve business objectives & profitability.
Food, Beverage & Events
Profitability: Monitor COGS, manage par stocks, and implement strict POS procedures to monitor and record waste and shrinkage.
Safety: Uphold HACCP compliance and Mad Monkey food safety standards, policies and SOP’s.
Programming: Plan and execute weekly rituals (e.g., Quiz nights, family dinners) and refresh menus quarterly as necessary with the Global F&B/Experience team.
Quality Control: Monitor food / beverage preparation, portioning, and presentation and storage. Conduct regular taste tests for consistency.
Training: Conduct regular training with F&B team members to promote good product knowledge and a strong service system.
Guest Experience & Marketing
Exceed: Mad Monkey guest expectations. Provide an exceptional hospitality experience to all Mad Monkey guests.
Events: Develop sales strategies to increase guest uptake of Events packages and maintain local entertainment partnerships (DJ’s, Live music, Drag shows etc). .
Reputation Management: Monitor and respond to online F&B related reviews (Google) to maintain "First in Class" status.
Marketing collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing department to to develop F&B and event marketing plans that align with the hotel’s business goals.
Leadership & Staffing
Performance: Lead departmental meetings, set monthly goals for management, and administer consistent corrective actions.
Culture: Foster a professional, inclusive work environment with a zero- tolerance policy for harassment or bullying.
Development: Recruit, mentor, and train staff to ensure high engagement and internal promotion opportunities.
Inventory & Maintenance:
Facility Care: Coordinate equipment repairs, waste removal, and pest control; maintain the venue as a "Showplace."
Stock Management: Conduct accurate stocktakes at the agreed cadence and identify procedure weaknesses to reduce loss.
General Duties
The roles require mandatory compliance for directives from Mad Monkey Hostels including but not limited to: All company policies and SOPs, local laws, health & safety, fire and emergency evacuation procedures, food safety, safe service of alcohol, business management and staff training.
