The Chief Accountant will be responsible for establishing the accounting framework, managing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese accounting and tax regulations, and providing financial insights to support management decisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes from the ground up and working in a growing international environment.

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: Up to VND 30,000,000 gross/month (negotiable based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Our client is an international company in the sports and lifestyle industry, currently expanding its operations in Vietnam. As the business establishes its local presence, the company is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to build and oversee the finance and accounting function, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting sustainable business growth.

- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all accounting records and transactions.

- Monitor cash flow and provide financial analysis to support business decisions.

- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Payroll coordination, and Cash Management.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).

- Establish the company&039;s accounting system, chart of accounts, and financial processes.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.

- Lead annual statutory audits and support tax inspections.

- Prepare and review all statutory tax filings, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Foreign Contractor Tax (where applicable), and other required declarations.

- Coordinate with tax authorities, banks, external auditors, and relevant government agencies.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

- Build efficient accounting workflows suitable for a newly established business.

- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.

Budgeting & Reporting

- Support annual budgeting and financial forecasting.

- Prepare periodic financial reports for local management and regional stakeholders.

- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with practical recommendations.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant.

- Bachelor&039;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience.

- Solid experience handling full- cycle accounting.

- Valid Chief Accountant Certificate is mandatory.

- Experience establishing accounting processes for a newly established company is an advantage.

Skills

- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and tax regulations.

- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem- solving skills.

- Experience working with auditors and government authorities.

Language

Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate with regional stakeholders and prepare reports.
