To recruit, train and develop food and beverage personnel
To develop effective training strategies and session plans for training requirements ensuring sessions are enjoyable as well as informative
Implement effective table booking management procedures to ensure the availability is optimised
Performs other relevant duties as directed by the General Manager
To support the sales team in promoting and selling banquets and available banquet space and meeting rooms
Represent the club at food and beverage events, exhibitions and meetings as required
Ensure all financial and human resource policies and procedures are implemented and followed by food and beverage personnel
Consolidate detailed utilisation data in a monthly and annual basis submitting reports to the General Manager as required
Liaise closely with the Executive Chef to develop menu concepts and ensure the menu is updated regularly
To comply with all standards of performance, behaviour, and operational policies and procedures in place at the golf club at all times
To effectively manage the department ensuring the revenue and expenditure targets set in the operating budget are achieved
To continually create and present to the General Manager innovative promotions aimed at increasing patronage and revenue. All promotions must be properly costed
To support the General Manager in the development of the annual business plan, operating budget and sales and marketing plan for the Food and Beverage Department
To monitor inventory levels reordering as appropriate to ensure sufficient stock is available at all times
To create outlet, outlet menu, banquet, package and promotion concepts
To develop, implement and monitor operating policies and procedures for all areas of the food and beverage department aimed at delivering the standard of service and operations expected
Participates in internal and external activities that are judged as appropriate to enhance the prestige of the company; or broadens the scope of the company’s operations by fulfilling the public obligations of the company as a participating member of the community
Develop the annual calendar of events for the food and beverage outlets
To manage the day- to- day operations of the food and beverage department
To plan the work roster to ensure sufficient numbers of staff are available to properly service the expected number of guests

Excellent organisational skills and be able to meet deadlines
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
Ability to relate to staff and golfers from a variety of backgrounds
Ability to multi task and mange time effectively
Minimum 5 years experience working in a food and beverage environment at least 2 of which must have been as a Food & Beverage Manager
Degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management, Culinary Studies or Food and Beverage related subject
Possess strong financial and business acumen
Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a large team
Ability to create innovative food and beverage promotions
Strong service standard skills
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting applications and database management software
Comprehensive knowledge of food & beverage operations including; service standards, table presentation, menu concepts, inventory control, cost control, health & safety, and point of sale systems
